</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Today's post is just a bit of fun I decided to have on Friday night after spending ALL day in bed with the most wicked headache. I finally got to feeling normal around 9:30P and sat down to do a bit of coloring. I'd seen the Bellariffic Friday's sketch for October 10th and thought I'd give it a shot.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://stampingbella.com/blog/?p=13551" target="_blank"><img border="0" src="http://stampingbella.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Sketch-20-Oct-10-250x250.jpg" /></a><span id="goog_141052307"></span><span id="goog_141052308"></span><a href="https://www.blogger.com/"></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So I took the <a href="http://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product.aspx?id=114125" target="_blank">Uptown Girl - Audrey Loves Her Makeup</a> and colored her using my prismacolor pencils and odorless mineral spirits. I fussy cut her and sandwiched her between two pieces of acetate. The frame was made in the card front in both pieces using the <a href="http://www.tayloredexpressions.com/dies/frames/frame-it-up-2.html" target="_blank">Taylored Expressions - Frame it Up 2 die</a>. I placed the patterned paper on the front of the card temporarily - and die cut both pieces at once to ensure it would be accurate. Then before adhering the patterned paper (<a href="http://www.mymindseye.com/ST/TheSweetestThing-02-Honey.asp" target="_blank">My Mind's Eye - The Sweetest Thing</a>) to the card base I added Audrey between the two pieces of acetate. This created a beautiful window that would show the sentiment on the inside of the card.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgj9scrC_1yRR1oh8Oe9ya1sV5cLGCW3DA1nFcFjxRVYE50MBGNnMjQC0qq7vd1k-hddsi7KzAQxnu1xlI6dAZ_R-BzcVrCK8qmu7OfGjQhebZyjZ2-9do23dZ5v1LH5Pp1G935reGsyc4/s1600/2014-10-03-22.06.33.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgj9scrC_1yRR1oh8Oe9ya1sV5cLGCW3DA1nFcFjxRVYE50MBGNnMjQC0qq7vd1k-hddsi7KzAQxnu1xlI6dAZ_R-BzcVrCK8qmu7OfGjQhebZyjZ2-9do23dZ5v1LH5Pp1G935reGsyc4/s1600/2014-10-03-22.06.33.jpg" height="363" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I was able to draw a clean black line around the frame to accentuate the shape just a bit. To do so, I fit the die back into the window and use a thin black marker to trace around the die. I think it adds just a bit extra. </div>

I think she turned out lovely! Thank you all for stopping by today!!Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16044283757222568526noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8151564174780051697.post-51441666361116171762014-10-02T12:00:00.000-06:002014-10-02T12:00:00.255-06:00Believe in the Good of Everything - Super Quick Card Idea!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So today I wanted to share a quick technique that I thought I'd try. I took one of the patterned stamps from the <a href="http://altenew.myshopify.com/collections/all/products/dodecagram" target="_blank">Altenew Dodecagram</a> set (the line drawing stamp right above the thank you and celebrate stamps you see pictured below).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://altenew.myshopify.com/collections/all/products/dodecagram" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" target="_blank"><img border="0" src="http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0388/7541/products/dodecagram_1024x1024.jpg?v=1394119351" height="320" width="185" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Instead of stamping it just once in each spot, each time using a different color of <a href="http://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product.aspx?id=133456" target="_blank">Distress Ink</a> (Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed, Peacock Feathers and Spiced Marmalade) rotate that stamp ever so slightly keeping the center lined up with each impression to get the awesome pattern you see below. I'm pretty sure that this technique would work with any of the mini Distress ink sets from Ranger, all of the colors seem to be coordinated for you.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I didn't really measure - and they're by no means perfect but I was thrilled with the result:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpf16ynDoLemnQJuCoZ9a8pTm1wiXcHd0mKTDEXHuKAFbxSqTL5rYxy_wBvztejpbxqN6Rr5kOMX5Md2XIdHWFUdmT69BZ5K3yEZS8bdBe4dtipgvA_KG0EvQyXyHtTNM3LhqYVlTIj70/s1600/DSC00312.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpf16ynDoLemnQJuCoZ9a8pTm1wiXcHd0mKTDEXHuKAFbxSqTL5rYxy_wBvztejpbxqN6Rr5kOMX5Md2XIdHWFUdmT69BZ5K3yEZS8bdBe4dtipgvA_KG0EvQyXyHtTNM3LhqYVlTIj70/s1600/DSC00312.jpg" height="320" width="255" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
A little closer reveals just how cool the colors look together, and how amazing the pattern is. I'm in love with Geometric Stamps!!!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdXm4M8i6uyObIJwD_ODWenK9TdpStPiQoqvEcKmggu_Qe2YYTcEMXxh9v12aTAUjs05z2n60y1tlsg85eN4cHp2eRgHbQAVqDBx6kCw_ZhkmoV8uP8KtzSoWywTcdadzvn7v76baEN9Q/s1600/DSC00314.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdXm4M8i6uyObIJwD_ODWenK9TdpStPiQoqvEcKmggu_Qe2YYTcEMXxh9v12aTAUjs05z2n60y1tlsg85eN4cHp2eRgHbQAVqDBx6kCw_ZhkmoV8uP8KtzSoWywTcdadzvn7v76baEN9Q/s1600/DSC00314.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The <a href="http://altenew.myshopify.com/collections/all/products/thoughts-reminders" target="_blank">"Believe in the Good of Everything"</a> sentiment is one that you saw in the post on Sunday, this phrase is resonating with me at the current moment. I'm almost using it as more of a mantra at this point. Don't know about everyone else, but this week has been a gigantic ball of stress smeared with thick layers of work and topped with exhaustion sprinkles...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Thanks for stopping by!!!</div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
As promised I wanted to share with you one of the things that has helped me stay organized with all of those 3x4 and 4x6 Project Life/Pocket Scrapbooking cards. In August I took a course from Studio Calico called <a href="http://www.studiocalico.com/shop/classrooms/workspace" target="_blank">Workspace</a> - well worth the $15 spent. With that class I learned about how I think, what I buy, what I keep and how I work best. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The storage container is the <a href="http://www.organizemore.com/Journaling-Card-Caddy--Large_p_104.html" target="_blank">Large Journaling Card Caddy</a> from Organize More - took about 4 weeks to get, but totally worth it. Its made of wood, and comes painted white. The dividers you see there are removable making room for the 4x6 cards you see in the back left and right. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiA9u3aAi6qdKBrqhchdSkbVh7o6xPhGDqHZl2RsUdqR2jMoUnWAY-nCGdbApVXiLbY8x5Lzj-PcYxXXCpj0xFrGJyGs9BXOTY2jBXiUUwNSWWLNgSJyCFFJFsbKLy2n-TkWNt5gpwElrM/s1600/2014-08-15-22.33.09.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiA9u3aAi6qdKBrqhchdSkbVh7o6xPhGDqHZl2RsUdqR2jMoUnWAY-nCGdbApVXiLbY8x5Lzj-PcYxXXCpj0xFrGJyGs9BXOTY2jBXiUUwNSWWLNgSJyCFFJFsbKLy2n-TkWNt5gpwElrM/s1600/2014-08-15-22.33.09.jpg" height="196" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: left;">I've found that when everything I have is well organized, then I can be more productive over all. I used to keep all of my project life cards stored in one of the drawers in my JetMax cubes, but I found myself shuffling through endless decks of cards to find the card that I know I got as part of a kit four months ago - now I can look by color which makes things much easier. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQR72GMFHzWEHrgrRmLT3EFU3f_3Wu3KBwxuBL4IMtQLVzkfaaRKT2BNYa3cEIFna78odr9B3Za4ZxoJlpQrXcEnieKSqpIkwP-9Hu1eCDWJ9diZ-s0SooGo7SnJA2sj3VEhaBJgbScaY/s1600/2014-08-15-22.32.59.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQR72GMFHzWEHrgrRmLT3EFU3f_3Wu3KBwxuBL4IMtQLVzkfaaRKT2BNYa3cEIFna78odr9B3Za4ZxoJlpQrXcEnieKSqpIkwP-9Hu1eCDWJ9diZ-s0SooGo7SnJA2sj3VEhaBJgbScaY/s1600/2014-08-15-22.32.59.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The Workspace class had a digital file for the Silhouette that I used to make the dividers that you see below. I used only the colors that coordinated with my craft room. Each divider has a specific set of colors - for colors that were more abundant I was able to break them down.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPFY6RQo9cemyDrpavNPiXtdL0u2QVWpu_2Dxg4nnUBrfn6ipY_-ZJXm8YrD-8wBU9MVxEzZhkgtcFj6rVA_tGAoFP4Pnut3vI3mjACW0hwrD8UJks5De2M3BG3IY3NWKbckdKnfQH7BU/s1600/2014-08-15-22.33.38.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPFY6RQo9cemyDrpavNPiXtdL0u2QVWpu_2Dxg4nnUBrfn6ipY_-ZJXm8YrD-8wBU9MVxEzZhkgtcFj6rVA_tGAoFP4Pnut3vI3mjACW0hwrD8UJks5De2M3BG3IY3NWKbckdKnfQH7BU/s1600/2014-08-15-22.33.38.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: start;">For example, I could have lumped ALL the green into one category but I've broken it down into green, lime green and blue green to help me separate a bit more. There are also spots for title cards, multi-colored cards (those cards with so many colors its hard to categorize them) and then specialty cards. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: start;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Organizing the cards that I currently own makes my monthly Project Life projects less frustrating as I no longer have to struggle to find what I'm looking for. AND by knowing what I have, I'm able to stand in my local scrapbooking store and ask myself "Do I really need this?". If you're looking at your space wondering what you can do to make it work for you - whether it is big or small I highly recommend the <a href="http://www.studiocalico.com/shop/classrooms/workspace" target="_blank">Workspace class</a> from Studio Calico.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Thank you all for stopping by! </div>

I've spent most of my Sunday attempting to mentally prepare myself for next week. For some reason work has been extremely busy - to the point where I'm pretty sure my brain is mush when I get home. I'm just now starting to feel normal -- and tomorrow is Monday, not sure who designed all of this - but the weekend should be much longer. I'm sure you all can agree. <br />
<br />
In any case, today's post is a bit special for me. About two weeks ago I was taking a mental break and happened upon the <a href="http://altenew.com/" target="_blank">Altenew</a> company on <a href="http://www.simonsaysstamp.com/search.aspx?Keywords=Altenew" target="_blank">Simon Says Stamp</a> - its been a long time since a company was able to captivate me as much as this one did. There's something fresh in their designs made me want all of their stamp sets. I'd like to introduce them as well if you've not already visited their blog - <a href="http://altenew.wordpress.com/" target="_blank">you can find it here</a>.<br />
<br />
Today's post is an answer to their <a href="http://altenew.wordpress.com/2014/09/03/september-challenge-from-the-craft-room/" target="_blank">September Challenge: From the Craft Room</a>:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://altenew.wordpress.com/2014/09/03/september-challenge-from-the-craft-room/" target="_blank"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAozU3pKaWhlb7oCAVnhpodgRvpJi5Ndtu5Hbo6LksJAhNcJonMha08S0ZUi2oGeuEiAJ2yNCIu1EeioXB_Qpk2TSKnCzj2O1dUoaw4G6IlM2E09c_hEkAJV_M3URUB5j6p86K5kxMEQI/s1600/Capture.PNG" height="400" width="346" /></a></div>
<br />
Here's my entry:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_8bUHh3v_fn7JHIRf2dX3zOjkBAwj_kMiojh4NLJcRMf7SLjTEzLrGH296rRENuEErPGCHievQPsXOcL95xIuFPxcUHY3bDxJG3AsAQ4KwNQfYINYTAosOpumfOk3G7aHnmPyOZJ4k_I/s1600/DSC00315.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_8bUHh3v_fn7JHIRf2dX3zOjkBAwj_kMiojh4NLJcRMf7SLjTEzLrGH296rRENuEErPGCHievQPsXOcL95xIuFPxcUHY3bDxJG3AsAQ4KwNQfYINYTAosOpumfOk3G7aHnmPyOZJ4k_I/s1600/DSC00315.jpg" height="206" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Everyone else had submitted a card - and every submission was so beautiful! But I thought I'd mix it up. The last Sunday of every month I put together my project life page for that month. I only do one spread per month, and because I don't have children of my own -- I don't think everyone wants to see a weekly spread mostly about work. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8rrWwlWOrb0GSEq1PsFJ7Ui-CO_mJLnl2gK-VdHOOrqf524yks7FUzfCqHd6Bdbp6gvFwd9cbtPlprx6AXiwObOztcokv688el2pCr_3XxpfMX4IX3-AcoV1cPYIshXNyEywvNsIuiHc/s1600/DSC00315_left.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8rrWwlWOrb0GSEq1PsFJ7Ui-CO_mJLnl2gK-VdHOOrqf524yks7FUzfCqHd6Bdbp6gvFwd9cbtPlprx6AXiwObOztcokv688el2pCr_3XxpfMX4IX3-AcoV1cPYIshXNyEywvNsIuiHc/s1600/DSC00315_left.jpg" height="400" width="386" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
In this case I mixed in some of the cards from my Studio Calico kits - and the yellow paper is Webster's Pages, the woodgrain is My Mind's Eye.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I had a card that had repeated text diagonally - in this case I used the <a href="http://altenew.myshopify.com/collections/all/products/sentiments-quotes" target="_blank">Sentiments & Greetings stamp set</a> to make my text for my lil' Hawai'i Princesses. They're my best friends children and I love to include them when I can - as I live in Colorado I don't see them often, but it is fun to watch them grow on facebook.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Thought it would be cool to make a title card as well using a stamp from the <a href="http://altenew.myshopify.com/collections/all/products/thoughts-reminders" target="_blank">Thoughts & Reminders set</a>. I stamped it on velum using <a href="http://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product.aspx?id=32556" target="_blank">Stazon Jet Black ink</a> and then layered it on top of a card from a previous Studio Calico Project Life kit. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The title page is also a good use of a stamp that was made originally for a card - I'm all about having multiple uses for things. This was just stamped in <a href="http://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product.aspx?id=44733" target="_blank">Pear Tart Momento ink</a> and then outlined in black pen. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I was also able to build in some backgrounds using the <a href="http://altenew.myshopify.com/collections/all/products/dodecagram" target="_blank">Dodecagram set</a> - stamped in PTI Smokey Shadow dye ink and <a href="http://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product.aspx?id=44733" target="_blank">Pear Tart Momento Ink</a>.</div>

I thought I'd share a card that I recently made - I have to admit I thought it would take me less than 20 minutes to and ended up taking me much longer. I'm what you would call a perfectionist, and you know when you get to the very last point and attempt to put the stamp on the back saying something to the tune of "made with love" - that's when you get that stray mark on the otherwise perfect white piece of card stock. So at the end of this you'll see two cards, one has just a bit of a smudge on the backside of the card.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjw1CbsJypWN313ueE6KlNLkR-KWem3SFB3qKBynj7Ij9zWeFq7jvDIQ8EzmqcEF75yvQ1pguu0GOm8Dch0cnX79BZfytwJ1qcxc4uQdzopjXgVWEklO3CpOVMT6NO7KNlIIhOQD_bPBa4/s1600/DSC00291.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjw1CbsJypWN313ueE6KlNLkR-KWem3SFB3qKBynj7Ij9zWeFq7jvDIQ8EzmqcEF75yvQ1pguu0GOm8Dch0cnX79BZfytwJ1qcxc4uQdzopjXgVWEklO3CpOVMT6NO7KNlIIhOQD_bPBa4/s1600/DSC00291.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The super nice part about the dye inks from Papertrey Ink is that they're somewhat transparent. So you stamp the first as you see here: </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfBPzC8n3hMZtPjs1zvep36hHR_Cd72F99k8md-OxBN08yI5_WRx36NebgqK6fDXFlFGgPqyg1U9-s-YnRFl7VG6AadUUccYOaxtoMdVOOunQ3pu696NXSDB1BtnD7PACdn6jiJIIyZ4Y/s1600/DSC00292.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfBPzC8n3hMZtPjs1zvep36hHR_Cd72F99k8md-OxBN08yI5_WRx36NebgqK6fDXFlFGgPqyg1U9-s-YnRFl7VG6AadUUccYOaxtoMdVOOunQ3pu696NXSDB1BtnD7PACdn6jiJIIyZ4Y/s1600/DSC00292.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And then when you stamp the following colors - you can see through them and they mix nicely to create other colors. At first I was terrified of this technique, I'm such a perfectionist that mixing colors or crossing colors made me twitch, but once I tried it it was super neat! You just have to find the correct inks and colors. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBR-xyRdDAwrpmhW4L-sPgcf5cMfEfKI_6VyP8NahBZaLyxQjArV5zOv2pnhxEQURwSjPjoJk0V1P-35fVruBc8AL2zpsG-5jZtj9VJvzxL3mMMdUsBLV0PzWKtLv_gFS3lbEWSzpQ4NE/s1600/DSC00293.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBR-xyRdDAwrpmhW4L-sPgcf5cMfEfKI_6VyP8NahBZaLyxQjArV5zOv2pnhxEQURwSjPjoJk0V1P-35fVruBc8AL2zpsG-5jZtj9VJvzxL3mMMdUsBLV0PzWKtLv_gFS3lbEWSzpQ4NE/s1600/DSC00293.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Once I was okay with the colors - I stamped the happy from the set. And to be honest it was stamped more than once in the Jet Black Archival Ink from Ranger. I wanted it dark over all that color. Not pictured was I did the same thing with the Birthday sentiment from the same set. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkU7kohyphenhyphen52EcAQoZtQnc4niSe0VpDERwx2tqlBvIixuUSr5o3AVXRBfQhYui0ra1FtHkLn6C5lGkhyDqlWceaReRn3tYhkekZmmqt-wv2K9Jrguxj2zNsJGObe2ZFGjocgBDoRJBxEROw/s1600/DSC00295.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkU7kohyphenhyphen52EcAQoZtQnc4niSe0VpDERwx2tqlBvIixuUSr5o3AVXRBfQhYui0ra1FtHkLn6C5lGkhyDqlWceaReRn3tYhkekZmmqt-wv2K9Jrguxj2zNsJGObe2ZFGjocgBDoRJBxEROw/s1600/DSC00295.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
On the inside of the card I did a mini-version using the smaller paint splotches and the heart from the Wet Paint set. All black ink was given a touch of class with some Wink of Stella clear. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiarQFwc2n7HmQoPDNX7inHiBqjc9QL1dI7qA1DaMkBoesYCLDH7jI3PMdAgIXcC9Yv9pN8Ac9YLUvO-M3vsddeiyvhyVkLAZn7eBKnA3QhhHDz1T-lcLU3sBerORJu0VeyWryYcgN0dpY/s1600/DSC00301.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiarQFwc2n7HmQoPDNX7inHiBqjc9QL1dI7qA1DaMkBoesYCLDH7jI3PMdAgIXcC9Yv9pN8Ac9YLUvO-M3vsddeiyvhyVkLAZn7eBKnA3QhhHDz1T-lcLU3sBerORJu0VeyWryYcgN0dpY/s1600/DSC00301.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here's a close up of the results! I was super happy with how this came out - the colors ended up so vibrant don't you think?</div>

I purchased a house a little over two years ago and since then have been slowly working on making this space my own. It honestly is an oasis of calm in my chaotic world. When I'm at work I'm typically dreaming of my next project and my quiet time here.<br />

<br />
The room is long but narrow with doors at either end along one wall along with two closets. So I only had one major wall to line everything up against. I know that there are many creative spaces shared on the Internet - I'm very mindful that they all end up looking the same, but I'm hoping mine stands out with the unique decorations and organization. <br />
<br />

<br />
The saying "a place for everything and everything in its place" is my motto of choice. I've made sure that everything I purchase has a proper home, that I know what I have and that when I'm done I put everything away. A clean space clears my mind to be even more creative as I can find everything I'm looking for, most of my items are a quick reach from my chair and everything has a home when I'm done.<br />

I've been totally distant for almost a year to anyone who may still read this!! In that year I've moved into my own home - like a real adult!! I have pictures of the craft studio coming later this week. I've been snowed in all day and started looking at my list of challenge blogs -- where I encountered the <a href="http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/2013/02/good-morning-mojo-fans-we-are-so-happy.html">Mojo Monday</a> challenge for this week. So here's what the sketch was for this week:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEnlrNayJcoYU-mlVbrWJL91Ac1cBm-rsGCC-0RGgLLRDzgKCd5y1m3EKrLt8p4mLbk99k36tgHA4RR8sR5pG5-nT9oEZDdq-7csGmKRsHQplD1OIobx_LLII_rDFWhkm-T7z2CIvAbf2X/s400/Mojo281Sketch.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEnlrNayJcoYU-mlVbrWJL91Ac1cBm-rsGCC-0RGgLLRDzgKCd5y1m3EKrLt8p4mLbk99k36tgHA4RR8sR5pG5-nT9oEZDdq-7csGmKRsHQplD1OIobx_LLII_rDFWhkm-T7z2CIvAbf2X/s320/Mojo281Sketch.gif" width="232" /></a></div>
And here's what I've come up with:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUxVbASr8hvxkDRZjlp4LEDisp4omc2X7j1__hla7bHTS39K7fs8w4n2wFre_sIq6Rq1YuIgd7mOMui2mgvip4olo2RdEuIEAdJWpgMw7Ru99RS7PVmU3jh-IcgKTVzXFRGmBtdsm7diY/s1600/IMG_0716_blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUxVbASr8hvxkDRZjlp4LEDisp4omc2X7j1__hla7bHTS39K7fs8w4n2wFre_sIq6Rq1YuIgd7mOMui2mgvip4olo2RdEuIEAdJWpgMw7Ru99RS7PVmU3jh-IcgKTVzXFRGmBtdsm7diY/s400/IMG_0716_blog.jpg" width="297" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used the <a href="http://shopverve.com/vs-09-049.html">Thankful Accents</a> stamp set on PTI Simply White card stock with Ranger Archival Black Ink. I put it up on pop dots, over the paper with the sentiment on it. The other two circles were cut using a 2.5" circle paper punch out of scraps (the stripes are from the <a href="http://mymindseye.com/CTB/Collectable.asp">My Mind's Eye new Collectable collection</a>). I then took a circle stencil that was slightly smaller than the paper circles and drew three circles all offset from one another using a black pen. Some black seam binding and a black card base and everything was set. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7MpojhZ8dKpp74RRwKDq6eoo0S_Bxu1F8E4_f4ZyIuAaMLRIONpUcusn7y_G6zt-N_MRl5Fv1AVvVHoIX2v5MUocBSMW_UzP6KtdM5XQTiCayyWF-k0RN0H4hR3HLd95zyJwsXmQX-Sw/s1600/IMG_0717_blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7MpojhZ8dKpp74RRwKDq6eoo0S_Bxu1F8E4_f4ZyIuAaMLRIONpUcusn7y_G6zt-N_MRl5Fv1AVvVHoIX2v5MUocBSMW_UzP6KtdM5XQTiCayyWF-k0RN0H4hR3HLd95zyJwsXmQX-Sw/s400/IMG_0717_blog.jpg" width="297" /></a></div>
<br />
As always the inside is designed to match. I have the perfect person for this card!<br />
<br />
Thank you all for stopping by!<br />

I kinda suck at posting to my blog!! Sorry about that folks. Today I have an entry into the March I Am Roses Color Challenge, and to get it I interviewed Lucky the Leprechaun himself! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">I wanted to know what a Leprechaun carries with him - and it turns out his steamer trunk is quite full of goodies! When I asked him why he carries around all this stuff and if it slows him down as he runs from everyone trying to catch him for his pot of gold, he answered:</span><br />
<blockquote class="tr_bq"><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">"Well, me wife - she insists I carry around all this stuff. Its really things that I collect during my travels that I'm bringing home for her. Like emeralds, and gold and some flowers from my recent visit to Thailand. I also like to have some mementos from home - pictures of me favorite drink, Guinness - and a picture of me lovely wife. The trunk doesn't slow me down, I use me magic and me lucky charms to bring it with me."</span></blockquote><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">I was extremely interested in seeing his steamer trunk, he agreed only because it wasn't his pot of gold - that was a closely guarded secret - I was able to snap some pictures:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />

So I thought I would send her a small chocolate box that I altered as a hostess gift.<br />

Don't you just love the butterfly - and a very similar frame idea. <br />

I made a video where I went into a little more detail as to what I did - you can watch it here:<br />

When I can buy a roll of white ribbon for $1, and make five flowers - of any color that I'd like when I can dye them with my Lindy's, its way better than paying $4 and $5 for one or two flowers. So I've watched a couple of videos on youTube and decided to give it a try - here are my results:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZO_GgWffyjc2IysRoazdFamzc1aTY6fE35XK3OnkQPQW0h3gUpZJWALRDnar8zEP-a2IsJFqO06EH6uCjZ09hyLGY7fMwejsg49_pmPHJqHeUGlPl7W3bs9sGQ0jdenZbiiBXRcNnVBo/s1600/Rolled-Roses.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZO_GgWffyjc2IysRoazdFamzc1aTY6fE35XK3OnkQPQW0h3gUpZJWALRDnar8zEP-a2IsJFqO06EH6uCjZ09hyLGY7fMwejsg49_pmPHJqHeUGlPl7W3bs9sGQ0jdenZbiiBXRcNnVBo/s320/Rolled-Roses.jpg" width="148" /></a></div><br />

My boyfriend had brought home a four pack of Odells Brewery Double Pilsner with this amazing owl on it. So I cut up the box, and made this lovely tag:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMtIyaUTmglGMDqVh6dgDyq99SVPi3LM3mm4IPISr7z5Q4J7Mz4u-R6DKSrymorkByQ7KA2YeBQf5ixVbb22vPQ5AUh008YEDn35PS-EM4ghyphenhyphenh5-xnZ7ob6BnOfmGX8xD_27bGmPjqQuY/s1600/Owl-Tag.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMtIyaUTmglGMDqVh6dgDyq99SVPi3LM3mm4IPISr7z5Q4J7Mz4u-R6DKSrymorkByQ7KA2YeBQf5ixVbb22vPQ5AUh008YEDn35PS-EM4ghyphenhyphenh5-xnZ7ob6BnOfmGX8xD_27bGmPjqQuY/s320/Owl-Tag.jpg" width="188" /></a></div>I even painted the glass myself! I was so happy with it when I finished it. It was my first step into a larger universe - of art journaling!! I thought I'd share in the hope that it would inspire you to start art journaling too. Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16044283757222568526noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8151564174780051697.post-80761310780678183882011-07-15T10:24:00.002-06:002011-07-15T10:24:01.307-06:00Altered Picture FrameAbout two months ago - one of my friends lost her horse unexpectedly and I wanted to send her something to keep a picture of him in as a memento. So I made this using one of the plain wooden frames from Hobby Lobby:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdyWaKMeEnjYiW11Uw7ISoNYUp4rxr3XTrXhZ5PiLkqOwkEQ58u1M6BFMzjAN5XF3V0gwzyjGQ0stwiG5lkAM0C21G87TyYdbUrxGHhLTdEaZMhlrqywqjXfPwIKoE5MLoYCct80FLGtk/s1600/frame3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="238" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdyWaKMeEnjYiW11Uw7ISoNYUp4rxr3XTrXhZ5PiLkqOwkEQ58u1M6BFMzjAN5XF3V0gwzyjGQ0stwiG5lkAM0C21G87TyYdbUrxGHhLTdEaZMhlrqywqjXfPwIKoE5MLoYCct80FLGtk/s320/frame3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
I either hand dyed or painted all of the flowers to match one another. I hand rolled a rose out of satin ribbon.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOvc9-HWQTl7vxFA1V5EMxDHzigQ9vv8OUOWMDvvMMXSDqmOz4fLnxXuPsxBbt8K1O8hH0wlhb5B15l4LTXl2IB4U2zd6gRS1H-ZrsmRmIjsSveP4wK2_UQeNwhextQTOmtcvnz0KDo-c/s1600/Picture-Frame-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOvc9-HWQTl7vxFA1V5EMxDHzigQ9vv8OUOWMDvvMMXSDqmOz4fLnxXuPsxBbt8K1O8hH0wlhb5B15l4LTXl2IB4U2zd6gRS1H-ZrsmRmIjsSveP4wK2_UQeNwhextQTOmtcvnz0KDo-c/s320/Picture-Frame-2.jpg" width="238" /></a></div> I was told after the fact that her family kept items in specific colors for specific horses, and the frame that I had made for her was in the colors that were meant for her horse - so that made it extra special.<br />
<br />

I picked the 1920s. Now I have no clue if mine fits in to the 1920s - but I made them anyway:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrFQ8E2kItzdAwvcNmnhPR95lPhdBavOoj_tiU02yyw_jSY9hMCPYSOS_WItUjp3eDGtD1atBgGqrwwTN59fq-oqDBEW2gEI6GB_eBdOcuKS098O2XOIivUf7_2dKyweBwsWU1sk3-I-o/s1600/1920sATCs.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrFQ8E2kItzdAwvcNmnhPR95lPhdBavOoj_tiU02yyw_jSY9hMCPYSOS_WItUjp3eDGtD1atBgGqrwwTN59fq-oqDBEW2gEI6GB_eBdOcuKS098O2XOIivUf7_2dKyweBwsWU1sk3-I-o/s320/1920sATCs.jpg" width="303" /></a> </div>I used the Graphic45 Curtain Call Collection as a background and a stamp that I bought from Gabby - who was one of my fellow Bombshell DT members. I used some grunge paper flourishes died with <a href="http://www.lindystampgang.com/black-orchid-silver.html">Lindy's Black Orchid Silver Starburst stain</a> and then some flowers made of seam binding that I aged a bit.<br />
<br />
Neat huh? I'm always down with swapping ATCs with my fellow artists!Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16044283757222568526noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8151564174780051697.post-34186313437713728332011-07-09T10:05:00.000-06:002011-07-09T10:05:57.504-06:00The Last Two Months Flew ByWow the months have flown - and I have been crafting the whole time and not sharing with you. For that I apologize. I'll begin sharing now!! I've been crafting with an amazing group of ladies on <a href="http://alilscrapofheaven.ning.com/">A Lil' Scrap of Heaven</a>. If you're looking for a place that hosts fun and challenging swaps, this is your place. I've taken part in several swaps, one of which was a Chocolate Box Swap. Where the task is to decorate a chocolate box and fill it with goodies. Here's what I made for my swap partner:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYpYJ2iwgK4zSlBtwQh9vV5okeOzwPxXSnN2he8sLQpS90m2Q2ylqsdvuJPJxiR_ux8i7vKHcbVK8MMEy9te5pvJkccoC0XP4qDwevNBLNmIgH6OsdYeeA1XnSPdr6OTeKk1UVmCzLgiE/s1600/ChocBox3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYpYJ2iwgK4zSlBtwQh9vV5okeOzwPxXSnN2he8sLQpS90m2Q2ylqsdvuJPJxiR_ux8i7vKHcbVK8MMEy9te5pvJkccoC0XP4qDwevNBLNmIgH6OsdYeeA1XnSPdr6OTeKk1UVmCzLgiE/s320/ChocBox3.jpg" width="238" /></a></div><br />
I started out by painting it with metallic champagne paint around the edges and on 1" around the top. On the top of the box I painted block of metallic rose paint and then hand died some lace with Lindy's Stamp Gang <a href="http://www.lindystampgang.com/black-orchid-silver.html">Black Orchid Silver</a> Starburst spray. I then lined the pink box with balsa wood stained with the same Lindy's.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkolFejXF-i4cn5H0kDBa-67Hvo37Af9mTyMFfG0MRn6L0q5jHR3zm4pLHeU2zxSJbitnRimlIynQgrRAuLG6l8pqPY_FzX7yBAJSIuDP9dDeV1JcdL741xwr4scs225TVC6mvN9nNQKk/s1600/ChocBox2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="238" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkolFejXF-i4cn5H0kDBa-67Hvo37Af9mTyMFfG0MRn6L0q5jHR3zm4pLHeU2zxSJbitnRimlIynQgrRAuLG6l8pqPY_FzX7yBAJSIuDP9dDeV1JcdL741xwr4scs225TVC6mvN9nNQKk/s320/ChocBox2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div> I then used a pewter frame with a vintage image to make a focal point and surrounded that with hand dyed flowers, and custom made roses. A couple of sprays of bling and handmade stick pins finished it off.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLkEW9I9z6jckQng0uA8Q1EIVTEl3wwt2mj6LqrZUUhGWiRa5Yl3khPp7QsYzlbqBuIl_SAsexD_uXY8_KAtCSmlUBgKsGVki56wtjXWw73YUzmlGzPKxlRs3cPOijkSgAMCLQrUnwQc8/s1600/ChocBox1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="298" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLkEW9I9z6jckQng0uA8Q1EIVTEl3wwt2mj6LqrZUUhGWiRa5Yl3khPp7QsYzlbqBuIl_SAsexD_uXY8_KAtCSmlUBgKsGVki56wtjXWw73YUzmlGzPKxlRs3cPOijkSgAMCLQrUnwQc8/s400/ChocBox1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
Isn't it lovely? She loved every bit of it - it was a whole days work, but an amazing project.<br />
<br />
What have you been working on?Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16044283757222568526noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8151564174780051697.post-46079498130325884202011-04-23T09:43:00.000-06:002011-04-23T09:43:13.468-06:00RockstarHappy Saturday Morning to all! So this weekend is going to feel like a short one - what with Easter Sunday tomorrow it means a trip south to be with my wonderful extended family. But last night during a Bones TV marathon (well, okay three episodes that I was behind on.) I rocked these out!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUnkYkuq9knZ4oScXG__pM_UtNCs7gLpFXqBg7uuXX2I_MONkytsgu2skfMJGub8PcYWUXyVG8MZjRWVUX0TS-sm7cfY9PSXVB3J4hdNnOKoHiTUn4ImXukBUym449ErtXRWLkFpJZyIg/s1600/Rockstar-ATCs.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="279" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUnkYkuq9knZ4oScXG__pM_UtNCs7gLpFXqBg7uuXX2I_MONkytsgu2skfMJGub8PcYWUXyVG8MZjRWVUX0TS-sm7cfY9PSXVB3J4hdNnOKoHiTUn4ImXukBUym449ErtXRWLkFpJZyIg/s400/Rockstar-ATCs.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
These are for my ATC card swap on a Lil' Scrap of Heaven - the theme was Music and requirements were bold colors or dimension. For a long time I read it as bold colors <i>and</i> dimension and was having a hard time coming up with something. But once I re-read the requirements I was golden. It just so happens that my local scrapbooking store was moving and had a My Mind's Eye stamp for 50 cents! 50! Sure it was a tad used - but it worked so perfectly with the sheet music I picked up at the flea market!<br />
<br />
I'm so excited to get these to the hostess so everyone can see them in person!<br />
<br />
Have a good weekend all!Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16044283757222568526noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8151564174780051697.post-19142762153338822442011-04-20T09:00:00.032-06:002011-04-20T09:20:31.614-06:00If life gives you limes - Make Margaritas!So I had the desire to participate in the April Blast from the Past challenge by Taylored Expressions - use a stamp set that I have yet to use - and drink a delicious beverage at the same time! I don't know how ones night could get any better. No seriously, I really don't know - okay well maybe the Star Trek marathon helped a bit too... but that's cause I'm an uber nerd!<br />
<br />
<br />
So here was the challenge:<br />
<blockquote><i><span style="font-size: 100%;">Create a card featuring any Taylored Expressions Stamps released prior to February 2011! The theme for our April hop is "Clean & Simple". Often clean lines and a simple layout make the most beautiful cards! If you're looking for some direction, think lots of white space, limited layering, and a single focal image!</span></i></blockquote><br />
Pretty simple right - well when the images are amazing... its easy to make a clean and simple card. In this case all of the images and sentiments are from the Taylored Expressions set titled <a href="http://www.tayloredexpressions.com/item.php?item_id=1499">Chillax</a> and are simply amazing to work with. I mean how much fun is this card for someone having a bad day?! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4Yfs1FBx-ZxfOY32K3-cKms-Mo96B3QJUjLedSK7WXaK1_VbggMerxIOnipGb5O7_w3udcj3xcJ1LNlkYRMorfgnc-DoQe9x-duskVeGww3eb18hngaAPTg5k_wGAPbQCl2rvx7tLaaw/s1600/make_margaritas1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="356" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4Yfs1FBx-ZxfOY32K3-cKms-Mo96B3QJUjLedSK7WXaK1_VbggMerxIOnipGb5O7_w3udcj3xcJ1LNlkYRMorfgnc-DoQe9x-duskVeGww3eb18hngaAPTg5k_wGAPbQCl2rvx7tLaaw/s400/make_margaritas1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
For a bit more detail to bring the eye to the image I used my Spica glitter pens to add some hand drawn corners on the image. And used a bit of Glossy Accents over the glass part of the marg to make it look like glass. Came out pretty neat huh?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2B1LIYBcF9TpUrYmBBgfdEEZbuNZ4YUjeFhMA4jfhCINt2WJTmQiWjU1svWeab-iRfgRbL0tsT6qK7l0KkefsRyb576Yist2Q4-kARmzOUbnXAoTYzY5A1z0MT3oRALX1QrPoVs-MBZA/s1600/make_margaritas2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="365" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2B1LIYBcF9TpUrYmBBgfdEEZbuNZ4YUjeFhMA4jfhCINt2WJTmQiWjU1svWeab-iRfgRbL0tsT6qK7l0KkefsRyb576Yist2Q4-kARmzOUbnXAoTYzY5A1z0MT3oRALX1QrPoVs-MBZA/s400/make_margaritas2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
<br />
And as always - gotta make the inside as pretty as the outside, in this case the lower right corner of the inside! In this case it was just stamped in black and embellished with my Spica pens just as a did the details on the front..<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCSiVKw1bsHQ5eGHU8NYGqgaSz9HLQmeKfNyPii1_X08MVXj0ROGhD40gWWjRIBGV1WqfuYdDjRxU6e4QSIEckF9-4Xdv5JnnXf9cPwBi2ve_dgtrBavwg7dFqZB_s5RgWLPA8EcXJxvg/s1600/Howdy-Cowgirl.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCSiVKw1bsHQ5eGHU8NYGqgaSz9HLQmeKfNyPii1_X08MVXj0ROGhD40gWWjRIBGV1WqfuYdDjRxU6e4QSIEckF9-4Xdv5JnnXf9cPwBi2ve_dgtrBavwg7dFqZB_s5RgWLPA8EcXJxvg/s640/Howdy-Cowgirl.jpg" width="426" /></a></div><br />
Gotta love Bombshell Stamps!!Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16044283757222568526noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8151564174780051697.post-7986477935935376232011-04-07T08:00:00.002-06:002011-04-07T08:00:10.383-06:00Princess Paper Piecing<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>So just a quick post - I got a bunch of stamps from <a href="http://www.allthatscraps.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=650_1261&products_id=13549">All That Scraps</a> that were princess related, there's a little princess in my life (my "niece" Fiona) and I'm so looking forward to using these stamps!! I already sent a really cute tag, but I thought I'd play with my Graphic45 Renaissance Paper and do a bit of paper piecing. Here's what I came up with:<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKdEiMf0VhifFvO2WU8fB9D-LcgmXkAux5NHJZNM5KX0bOI7b8c5dpuMsT75CWJsBY9dMC-A0IEjN4ki_UVY9YJVRMhbRhYwx7-ymZXARotTOKjxNklXblk_08SEO4R42_F4qrVEfV9ow/s1600/Princess.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKdEiMf0VhifFvO2WU8fB9D-LcgmXkAux5NHJZNM5KX0bOI7b8c5dpuMsT75CWJsBY9dMC-A0IEjN4ki_UVY9YJVRMhbRhYwx7-ymZXARotTOKjxNklXblk_08SEO4R42_F4qrVEfV9ow/s640/Princess.jpg" width="480" /></a></div><br />
Cute right! And the bonus is that I had just enough paper left to make my own flower for the card. I just learned how to make these things - and now I'm making them for everything!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQ1sBT5xvE6tC6Vx_5SM2E9NExEK6fzwIXd6LG3s_6qK2zF3Cj9lA-e_o0bpiQEWONRxrW2ygvfYtQSwyilJhKfb9XrwF0U0SuQXnoMKtGRJfJON1vhnv6n2IOqrceG5ZXFdQCOgyrVbQ/s1600/Princess2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQ1sBT5xvE6tC6Vx_5SM2E9NExEK6fzwIXd6LG3s_6qK2zF3Cj9lA-e_o0bpiQEWONRxrW2ygvfYtQSwyilJhKfb9XrwF0U0SuQXnoMKtGRJfJON1vhnv6n2IOqrceG5ZXFdQCOgyrVbQ/s400/Princess2.jpg" width="300" /> </a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Back on Saturday with a big Bombshell Howdy! Hope everyone has an inspirational day!</div>Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16044283757222568526noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8151564174780051697.post-41718364394530043482011-04-03T08:00:00.001-06:002011-04-03T08:00:00.361-06:00Step into Wonderland - Graphic45 Style!<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">So as promised - here's the second box! These were SO fun to make - and I think I went around covered in paint and glue for a week. That's how you know it was a good one. </span></div><div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: small;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhL6gaaytWNREGmptzNOB00_fFPBB1JSTN9qREtB6c8akFa2UTrxDVdS17X3-UtGANqts0VrFfIUIQ-vnumvgWALe_j7aQQyzFfAL7oAOtivZ0yC9TeWAKrrtUIv44JTw1lxBjUrkvKONs/s1600/Wonderland-Box2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="256" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhL6gaaytWNREGmptzNOB00_fFPBB1JSTN9qREtB6c8akFa2UTrxDVdS17X3-UtGANqts0VrFfIUIQ-vnumvgWALe_j7aQQyzFfAL7oAOtivZ0yC9TeWAKrrtUIv44JTw1lxBjUrkvKONs/s640/Wonderland-Box2.jpg" width="640" /></a></span></div><div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Pretty nifty huh?! The detail on the Graphic45 paper is amazing. And thought the set is intended for Halloween - I couldn't pass it up for this. Again this is one of the infamous dollar boxes from Michaels and the flowers are Recollections spritzed with a bit of Smooch spray for some shine. </span></div><div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: small;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQoDeKefJl9_tg5BNuPUDuMnrTQwbW7buSXeNiSCVn4FAIqlKmu7ndRnsszs545S-4WlwBevlrds6ZB-Md8Jp9SiFcPa8VP3WKzs9GJZ6Dsd1t-P4PAjNjstdJ3_D8ezIZAY6IkHSWTFI/s1600/Wonderland-Box.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="257" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQoDeKefJl9_tg5BNuPUDuMnrTQwbW7buSXeNiSCVn4FAIqlKmu7ndRnsszs545S-4WlwBevlrds6ZB-Md8Jp9SiFcPa8VP3WKzs9GJZ6Dsd1t-P4PAjNjstdJ3_D8ezIZAY6IkHSWTFI/s320/Wonderland-Box.jpg" width="320" /></a></span></div><div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Pretty cool huh? I cut out some of the images, put them on some chipboard and modge-podge them in to place. The box was so amazing - and it went to an amazing lady, so it is fitting!</span></div>Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16044283757222568526noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8151564174780051697.post-5260422202515229502011-04-01T08:00:00.002-06:002011-04-16T23:40:29.754-06:00Renaissance Box<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">So this was a gift for one of my cousins - I made one for each birthday that occurs in March and hand-delivered them to Scottsdale. I took pictures of two of the three - so I'll post them here for inspiration. They were made from the infamous wooden boxes from the Michaels dollar bin and decorated with Graphic45. They were each tailored to the person they were going to.</div><div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"> Here is the front of the box - the wooden knob is the one that came with the box - a little designer paper and some crackle medium and it fit perfectly. </div><div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7tcuhkpoOcyPAMElVdJv-8uHAPFadqiNDC7Bt30hKH35DoMTyQvMrSKGxsaJ-f9We3AnJy8xLnAW03vr2WM1RCwDh9txY7xLcnWgTURdDtmttYJOOVBxrwCZzzr7-lsF24Bpd7p9elKc/s1600/Rennisance-Box2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="282" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7tcuhkpoOcyPAMElVdJv-8uHAPFadqiNDC7Bt30hKH35DoMTyQvMrSKGxsaJ-f9We3AnJy8xLnAW03vr2WM1RCwDh9txY7xLcnWgTURdDtmttYJOOVBxrwCZzzr7-lsF24Bpd7p9elKc/s320/Rennisance-Box2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">The flowers are all recollections from Michaels - Prima esque - but way cheaper! And the grunge board henges and ideology key! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9LqTUD3prXKSE457l9pRwMvwVQ_UcjtwJF6pysOZDo7rTaHp81O5DvllQBRlhdB9OlDeHP4BwbJm5EaQJfEpj3OpnFmqPwKRuX-543ZoY1EwJEtcAN2zTbXCo_WRvK8W7NyywDvcEoz8/s1600/Rennisance-Box.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="271" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9LqTUD3prXKSE457l9pRwMvwVQ_UcjtwJF6pysOZDo7rTaHp81O5DvllQBRlhdB9OlDeHP4BwbJm5EaQJfEpj3OpnFmqPwKRuX-543ZoY1EwJEtcAN2zTbXCo_WRvK8W7NyywDvcEoz8/s320/Rennisance-Box.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"><br />

Wow - I guess I could say that it took me about two months to catch this little beauty - but really it didn't. I've been so busy with work, projects for family and decompressing in general that my blog has been put to the wayside. But I intend to remedy that now! I have a couple of projects that I can post now that they've been given to those intended. This one doesn't have an intended yet - but I'm sure I can find someone who will give her a good home:</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiORGbiBzh2DaFqSA7zq0jtlJfKoKjT-pqhddeb3In745EQDwhgQTQx8Yl5RWE0zkfOxVbXDSIcgr2jGLWFh8AmuQvd1VdlB3SFdFRu9E72Ujxg6rOqkJ3GPYmdCtOf_0b6GaVeli8RKr4/s1600/Captured-Fairy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiORGbiBzh2DaFqSA7zq0jtlJfKoKjT-pqhddeb3In745EQDwhgQTQx8Yl5RWE0zkfOxVbXDSIcgr2jGLWFh8AmuQvd1VdlB3SFdFRu9E72Ujxg6rOqkJ3GPYmdCtOf_0b6GaVeli8RKr4/s400/Captured-Fairy.jpg" width="298" /></a></div><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; font-size: small;"> </span><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; font-size: small;">I've been watching a lot of youtube videos - like this one from <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/cynthialoowho#p/u/50/ns7rovonYzM">CynthiaLooWho</a> - and was inspired... but all I had was a little itty bitty bottle, and had feathers only in red. I think she came out well and I may manage to acquire more supplies to make her some friends. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Here's a few more shots of the bottle itself - that was part of the fun "catching" her! </span></span><br />

I learned to blow glass! Well I started learning - and in one word AWESOME! I'm not kidding, it was hot but it was totally a blast. And I had an awesome teacher who let me make mistakes so I could learn to fix them. Mind you I've never done this before, but I've gotta say if I can scrap together $90 a month, I'd totally take a lesson a month until I get the hang of it. Here's some pictures of the action (Sorry on the quality - taken with my cell phone):<br />
