A Tribute to Grandpa

So in my first post I talked about my Grandpa being a creative inspiration for me. I thought I would post an image of a page I made just for him on the 6th anniversary of his passing. This was in response to a Scrapbook Page challenge by my local scrapbooking store Capture. The challenge was to use all Basic Grey product, and then at the end of the month everyone votes. Well this page was the winner.

The construction was simple, it started with a piece of Lime Green Bazzill Basic cardstock, and a page called Gabardine from Basic Grey's Urban Couture Line. I trimmed an inch off of the Basic Grey paper and centered it on the page. From there I matted the image with the same line of Basic Grey, just the simple brown page that came with the paper pack. The chipboard pieces are from the Periphery Chip Shapes set. They are inked with Fluid Chalk Inks from Color Box in Deep Brown, and then the edges inked with the Charcoal.

The rub-ons in the corner of the picture and on the Chipboard title piece are both from Basic Grey's Sultry line and came in a huge pack! I still have lots left that I'm just waiting for something special to use them on. The buttons are also from the Sultry line I believe... but it's been a while since I took them out of the package. I would assume that I got them from the same set.

I then printed some remembrances on some velum using a laser printer and attached it to the page using some basic black eyelets. The whole page came together so smoothly, that I believe it was meant to be this way.
